Rotary District 7610 and The Woodbridge Rotary Club Youth Music Contest
YOUTH MUSIC CONTEST 2022
Object: To help promising musicians gain notice in their communities and beyond, and to introduce young people to the mission of Rotary and its youth-based equivalents, Interact and Rotaract.
Applicants: High school musicians from Woodbridge, Dale City, Lake Ridge, and Dumfries, Virginia.
Categories: Composition and Solo performances of vocal, keyboard and instrumental, are invited.
District Level Contest Awards: First Place ($1000) Second Place ($500) Third Place ($250)
Club Level Contest Awards: First Place ($500) Second Place ($250) Third Place ($100)
Rules: • Each participant must submit a completed application form with his or her signature and the parental signed release. Click the link below for application and release:
• Applicants should announce themselves on their prepared video on a private YouTube
channel and introduce the title and composer of the work being submitted.
• The announcement should be no more than 30 seconds.
• Performances should be no longer than five minutes.
• No political or offensive language is permitted.
Delivery: Each applicant will send a link to a private YouTube site where they have stored their contest entry. Applicants need to keep their YouTube under the private setting, so that it is not available to the public. The link should be sent to the local Rotary Club Point of Contact, who will forward the link to the judges.
Judging: Judging will be based upon factors such as level of difficulty, execution, expression, creativity, and poise. See Judging Criteria posted on District 7610 website:

Club winners to be selected and reported to District Music Contest Lead by March 22
District level judging and winner announced by April 16

August 5th 2021- “Service Above Self Scholarship”
The Woodbridge Rotary Club is delighted to announce that Woodbridge Senior High School senior Ephratha Yonas has been awarded our 2021 Rotary “Service Above Self” Scholarship in the amount of $2,000. The award was presented at the Woodbridge Rotary’s Lunch meeting on August 5th 2021 at The Harbour Grille restaurant in Woodbridge, VA.
